Increasing the rate of ad valorem stamp duty chargeable on transactions of Hong Kong stock

The Hong Kong government will implement the Revenue (Stamp Duty) Ordinance 2021 on 1 August 2021, raising the rate of stamp duty payable on contract notes for sale or purchase of Hong Kong stock from 0.1 per cent to 0.13 per cent of the amount of consideration or its value on every sold note or bought note in respect of each transaction payable by the buyers and sellers respectively.

Our company will adjust the stamp duty rate to 0.13% from August 1, 2021 in accordance with the aforementioned regulations.
